Arunachal Pradesh Permits |

The state of Arunachal Pradesh being a protected area, visiting tourists are required to obtain a permit before entering the district limits. There are two types of official permits one must obtain before entering any area within the limits of Arunachal Pradesh:
- Inner Line Permit (ILP)
- Protected Area Permit (PAP)
For Domestic Tourists
All Indians except the natives of Arunachal Pradesh are required to obtain the Inner Line Permits or ILP’s before entering the area limits of Arunachal Pradesh. The permits can be obtained from the Secretary, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Deputy Commissioner & Additional Deputy Commissioner of the District or from Liaison Offices in Tezpur, Guwahati, Shillong, Kolkata, New Delhi, Dibrugarh, North Lakhimpur and Jorhat.
For Foreign Tourists
Foreigners are required to obtain a Protected Area Permit or PAP before entering Arunachal Pradesh. The permit can be obtained from All Indian Missions abroad, Chief Immigration Officer, All Foreigners Regional Registration Officers (FRRO), Govt. of India and Home Commissioner, Govt. of India and Home Commissioner and Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar. The permit is granted only for a period of 10 days and that too only for a group comprising of four or more persons.
