Itanagar situated on top of low flat hills, also known as 'the Land of the Dawn Lit Mountains’ is the capital city of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Ita Fort – Located in the center of the city in Papum Pare district, Ita Fort is an architectural wonder dating back to the 14th -15th century, built entirely of bricks and that too in an irregular shape. It is believed that Itanagar got its name from this fort.
The Buddhist Temple –It is another attraction in Itanagar, newly built and featuring beautiful yellow roof. From the grounds of the temple you get a panoramic view of Itanagar town.
Ganga Lake – Located about 6 km drive from Itanagar, the area surrounding the lake consists of superbly primeval jungles with bamboo groves, orchid masses on tall trees. It s one of the top spot for outing and picnic and offers adventure activity like boating.
Polo Park – Located at the top of a ridge that overlooks the Town of Itanagar, Polo Park is indeed an amazing little botanical garden. The park also features a small zoo which adds to its attraction.
