Mussoorie, the gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas, popularly knows as the Queen of the Hills, situated at an altitude of 2003 mts in the Garhwal hills above sea level. Mussoorie is one the beautiful hill stations in India and its name is derived from plants of 'Mussoorie' which were found in abundance here.
Located at an altitude 2,500 meters in the green Himalayan range, Mussoorie is surrounded by ice-capped mountain peaks and thick lush green dense vegetation which makes you fall in love with this place at first sight. Gun Hill: This is the second highest peak in Mussoorie, which can be reached by taking the ropeway. Here one can enjoy the enchanting views of the Himalayan peaks and glaciers.
Camel's Back Point: This place gets its name from the life-size rock which resembles a camel hump. One can watch the beautiful sunset into the Himalayas is a breath taking experience from the Camel's Back Point.
Kempty Falls: The Kempty Falls are the most popular waterfalls which is the star attraction of Mussoorie. The water before splitting into five streams falls from a staggering height of 4,500 feet and forcefully hits the rocks on its way and is nestled cozily among a cluster of cliffs, which makes it all the more mystical to look at.
Mussoorie Lake: The Mussoorie Lake has been recently developed for tourists by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority. It is situated on the Dehradun Mussoorie road, around 6 kilometers from Mussoorie. One can enjoy boating as there are many paddle boats available here for taking a round of the lake.
