
Most
outstanding mountain Kanchanjungha (3rd highest in the
world) melts is age old icefalls and turns to Tamor
River in the eastern Nepal. Tamor lies in the far remote
of East Nepal is approached only after a long journey
of 18 hour's bus and 3 day's trekking through the high
hills, passes above 2500mtr/10,000ft and forests of
the foot hills of Kanchanjungha range. Somehow the trekking
itself offers another aspect of tourism for which Nepal
is world's number one.
After the flavour of 3 day's walking, Dhovan the starting
point shows up with 3 major tributaries of the Tamor.
From starting day there is the challenge of forceful
rapids often connected and continual. You are often
chased by ever smiling people of east who are from one
of the oldest human tribe in the Himalayas known as
Kirants, Rais or Limbus.
Tamor is among one of the tributaries of Sunkoshi river.
The last section before emerging in to Sunkoshi Tamor
has still the powerful waves and rapids.
The trip ends at Chatara as of Sunkoshi then you can
proceed for a bird watching trip to Koshi Tappu wild
life reserve or come back to Kathmandu ridding another
16 hours bus.
