Ride the Himalayas - 12 Day Adventure

This is the ultimate motorcycle experience in the Himalayas. Ride a Royal Enfield Motorcycle from Srinagar to Manali. It's a challenging ride that will take you over numerous mountain passes and will leave you with a true feeling of the beauty and culture Indian Himalayas. Your safety and security is ensured by our tour leader Manoj Keshwar, an ex-army professional, whose numerous years of service in the Ladakh region has imparted to him an intimate knowledge of the area. One of the many highlights of the trip is a ride to the top of Khardung La (5,359m/17,582 ft) the world's highest motor-able pass!

We start the ride from Srinagar which is famous for its beautiful Dal Lake and traditional house boats. Leaving Srinagar it's a steep climb into the mountains and across the highlands to Kargil. The terrain after Kargil is much drier and colder and the beautiful pine forests of Kashmir are replaced by a colorful mountainous desert. As we ride through Ladakh we will visit several ancient Buddhist gompas before reaching Leh, the largest city in the region. We will take a side trip from Leh to visit Nubra Valley a dramatic landscape known for its sand dunes, Buddhist gompas and its unique double humped Bactrian camels. Once again continuing from Leh we will camp overnight at Pangong Lake, which is known for its deep blue waters. It's another few days through the mountains before we reach Manali the final stopping point of the trip.

Day 1: Srinagar

We will pick you up at the airport in Srinagar and you can spend the rest of the day visiting the beautiful Mughal Gardens or enjoy a Shikara (traditional boat) ride on Dal Lake. Overnight in Srinagar.

Day 2: Srinagar to Kargil - Riding 200km

This is an exciting day as we make our way out of Srinagar and over the numerous switchbacks of Zoji La Pass and across the highlands to Kargil. Enroute we will pass Drass which is one of the world's coldest permanently settled villages.

Day 3: Kargil to Leh - Riding 235km

Today takes across several mountain passes and we have the opportunity to visit the Buddhist gompas at Mulbekh, Lamayuru, Alchi and Nimu before reaching Leh the largest city in the region.

Day 4: Leh - Rest Day or Day Tour

Spend the day relaxing and discovering the small but dramatic city of Leh which lies squeezed between the Zansakar and Ladakh Ranges on the banks of the Indus River. Alternatively, take a day tour to visit the Buddhist Gompas at Shey, Hemis and Thikse.

Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley - Riding 130km

We start the day with a ride over Khardung La (5,359m /17,582 ft) the world's highest motor-able pass! The pass takes over the Ladakh Range and into Nubra Valley where we ride north to the small village of Hunder.

Day 6: Nubra Valley - Rest Day

Today we will relax and enjoy the sights of Nubra Valley. It's a dramatic landscape known for its sand dunes, Buddhist gompas and its unique double humped Bactrian camels.

Day 7: Nubra Valley to Leh - Riding 130 km

We head back over the Khardung La to spend the night in Leh before continuing our journey to Manali.

Day 8: Leh to Pangong Lake - Riding 150 km

Enroute to Pangong Lake we will cross over the high pass of Chang La (5,360m / 17,590 ft). We will camp overnight at Pangong Lake, which is known for its deep blue waters.

Day 9: Pangong to Sarchu - Riding 200km

Our ride today takes us to Sarchu a stopping point for travelers on the border between the Indian states of Ladakh and Himchal Pradesh.

Day 10: Sarchu to Keylong - Riding 100km

It's a windy road through the mountains to Keylong a small village on the Leh to Manali Highway. Today the desert gives way to a greener more lush mountainous terrain and the slopes of Keylong are even covered by Pine.

Day 11: Keylong to Manali - Riding 125km

Today is the last day of riding as we head over the scenic and often crowded Rohtang Pass before reaching our stopping point in the famous and popular hill station of Manali.

Day 12: Manali

This is the end of the trip. We will transfer you to the airport or bus station in the morning for return to Delhi.
