We include two night hotel nights with every Everest Trek booking and are happy to arrange extra hotel nights for you in Kathmandu either before or after the trek. We normally use the Hotel Ramada which is centrally located in Thamel, the tourist district of Kathmandu. If the Address is not available on a given night we will book you at a different hotel of similar quality. 

Note: If you booked prior to April 15, 2021 (before our recent price increase) you will be booked at the Hotel Address (See details below)

If you book extra hotel nights directly through Himalayanwonders we charge the following room rates: 

  • $ 89 for a single room
  • $ 99 for a double room
  • $139 for a triple room

The rates we offer are fixed and might be higher or lower than what you can book online. You will need to inform us before you arrive that you will require the extra nights and we will update your invoice as needed. 

If you book through Himalayanwonders and your return flight after the trek back to Kathmandu is canceled we will rearrange your hotel bookings as needed and you will only be charged for additional nights that you actually end up using. This is one of the main advantages to letting us make the arrangements.

However, in the event that flight delays result in changes to your schedule or to the schedule of other trekking groups we cannot guarantee availability at the Hotel Ramada upon the return from your trek as all the rooms might already be booked. This applies to both your last hotel night which is included in the package or to any other extra nights that you have arranged with us.

If a room is not available for you at the Hotel Ramada after the trek we will arrange your accommodation at a hotel of similar quality in Thamel and arrange for the transfer of your luggage at no additional cost. 

In summary, when booking extra hotel nights with Himalayanwonders keep in mind the following points:

  • We will never charge you for unused hotel nights due to changes in scheduling.
  • Schedules change due to flight delays to and from Lukla so we may need to book you at a different hotel in Thamel of similar quality. 
  • We will make sure you have accommodation and are taken care. 
  • You will need to be patient and give us a few hours to transfer your luggage once you arrive in Kathmandu if a change of hotel is required. We wont charge you for your luggage transfer.
  • If a change in hotel is required it’s often last minute and due to changes in the Lukla flight. Please understand that we don’t want to confirm any changes until we know that you have departed Lukla on a flight. 

You are always welcome to book extra hotel nights on your own and we are happy to give advice on the best hotels and areas of the city. We always use the Ramada Hotel as our first choice and you can book extra nights online for either before or after the trek using the following link on booking.com (Hotel Ramada). Please note that if you book on your own you are responsible for coordinating any changes to your reservation with the hotel. 

Important tip: Please keep your luggage tag with you so we can help you find your luggage when you return from the trek. A good idea is to take a picture of it on your phone before you start the trek as they often get lost.

Bookings Before April 15th, 2021: Please review the points in the blog post above which apply to all bookings and schedule changes.  If you booked prior to April 15, 2021 or at our old pricing of $1399 (INR 65,000 or less) for Everest Base Camp you will be booked at the Hotel Address. If the Address is not available on a given night we will book you at a different hotel of similar quality such as the Hotel Jampa. If you book extra hotel nights directly through Himalayanwonders for the Hotel Address we charge the following room rates: 

  • $ 50 for a single room
  • $ 65 for a double room
  • $ 80 for a triple room
